World War II Minesweeper,which was a tourist attraction in St. Louis near the arch, broke from it's moorings in the flood of 1993. It was exposed due to the low water levels of the Mississippi in 2012

I have always loved the impressionistic style and have always desired to paint. At the beginning of the pandemic, April of 2020, I retired and began painting. I have no formal training. I am self taught, and have used online tutorials. I have found that acrylics work best for me, but continue to experiment with other mediums. I am an advanced self taught photographer since 2005, and now mostly use my photos as resources for my paintings. I believe it is important to have a personal connection with the subject of the painting. My early years as an artist were focused mainly on music.
