Obviously lived in with new shingles, fairly fresh paint, blinds in the windows, and the remains of tomato plants in their cages, the occupants hurriedly escaped with salvageable possessions, leaving the ÔTwo Blue BungalowsÕ behind with door open to greet the cold, rising flood waters.

ÔTwo Blue BungalowsÕ was photographed in March of 2008, during peak flooding of the Meramec River in Fenton, Missouri.

I have always loved the impressionistic style and have always desired to paint. At the beginning of the pandemic, April of 2020, I retired and began painting. I have no formal training. I am self taught, and have used online tutorials. I have found that acrylics work best for me, but continue to experiment with other mediums. I am an advanced self taught photographer since 2005, and now mostly use my photos as resources for my paintings. I believe it is important to have a personal connection with the subject of the painting. My early years as an artist were focused mainly on music.
